Paper studio “Atlelier”

Construction of a handmade sketchbook/moleskine

Day 1

19 April 

Make the paper paste

Materials:

- Tear/recycle paper

- bucket

- wide basin

- Crusher                                                          

1 - Tear paper inside the bucket

2 - Soak with hot water

  3 - Crush

4 - Prepare the mixture in the large bowl

Day 2

21 April

Preparation of materials and equipment for paper making

Materials:

- 2 grids of equal size

- Fine mosquito net

- Stapler                                                                                                                       

1 - Placing the net on the grid

2 - Add textures to the paper mix - leaves, flowers or seeds.

3 - Make the hardcover for the sketchbook.

Day 3

26 April

Making sheets of craft paper

Materials:

- Table

- Cloth to cover a table

- sponge

- complete grid

1 - Spread the cloths on the tables.

1 - Make the sheets of craft paper

2 - place them on top of the cloths on the tables

3 - Embedding / adding textures - dried flowers or seeds

Day 4

28 April

Grouping and cutting the sheets

Materials:

- Scissors

- Scale

1- Smoothing the leaves

2- Cut

3 - Grouping

Day 5

3 May

Sketchbook assembly

Materials:

- Glue

- Needle

- Fine cotton yarn

- Twine/tape

1 - Assembling the sketchbooks

Day 6

5 May

1 - Finishing and embellishment of the cover

2 – Packaging
